Carol Barnier is a fresh, fun and popular conference speaker. Her objective in all her communication is to have the wit of Erma Bombeck crossed with the depth of C. S. Lewis, but admits that, truth be told, most days she only achieves a solid Lucy Ricardo with a bit of Bob the Tomato.

Frank Sherwin contributes his scientific expertise to a variety of ICR’s publications on creation science. He is the author of The Ocean Book and co-author of The Fossil Record: Unearthing Nature’s History of Life and The Human Body: An Intelligent Design, and is one of ICR’s most sought-after speakers.

Special Music

The Josties - Dale Jost served as a pastor in the Evangelical Free Church for 15 years. In 1997, Dale decided he wanted freedom to devote more time to raising his family, so he stepped down from being a pastor. The following year, he moved his family to a stubble field in southern Alberta. He and his sons moved a house and several outbuildings onto the property. Country life has provided Dale with many opportunities to work with his family and teach his sons valuable life skills. Dale still drives a school bus, raises golden retrievers, and has a small woodworking business, all of which give him flexibility to help with the home schooling and spiritual mentoring of the children who remain at home. In 2007, God specifically directed Dale to begin taking his family across Canada and into the United States to share through music the faithfulness of God.

Additional Speakers

Jennifer Bennett - There has never been a “Plan B” for the Bennett Family, as they know that privately homeschooling is the best way to learn and grow for the glory of God. Jennifer feels that keeping it simple and fun are some of the keys to successful lifetime learning. She has led co-ops and small group class days in both California and Arizona.

Michael Finton is a college professor, business owner, and Registered Nurse. He teaches Emergency Medicine at a local community college as well as operating a few home-based, family businesses. He and his wife Jacci serve on the board of CFS Valley Center and are presently homeschooling their three children.

Lisa Jost is a homemaker and very talented song writer. She loves ministering from home and on the road, supporting Dale wherever God leads, and diligently seeking to raise their children for God’s glory. Dale and Lisa publish Hearts At Home, a by-donation magazine devoted to the strengthening and encouragement of families. In concert, she plays guitar, mandolin and sings.

Nathan Pierce was homeschooled kindergarten through high school and received a B.A. in Political Studies from The Master's College. Nathan works full-time for Family Protection Ministries where he began as an intern in 2002. He is a legislative liaison for private homeschooling and speaks at conferences to both homeschool parents and teens. He and his wife Betsy, married in 2004 and have four children.

John Wojnicki

and his wife Laura co-chair Christian Family Schools. Their personal homeschool journey began in 1985. All four of their children are married and raising families of their own. Even though the Wojnicki’s no longer have children living at home, they are thoroughly enjoying their nine grandchildren. From their experience, they have found homeschooling to be the most conducive option for discipling children, and for this reason they remain involved as leaders of Christian Family Schools.

Free Friday Night Special Expo Offer

This year, we are once again providing a free introduction to homeschooling session at 5:00 PM on Friday.  Everyone is welcome and no advance reservation is required to attend this free session.  Additionally, we are offering Friday Night Free to families who have never homeschooled before, who have also not previously attended the CFS Expo, and who will be attending the Free Introduction to Homeschooling Session on Friday evening. This offer begins at 5:00 PM with the Introduction session and will also enable those who qualify to attend the Friday night keynote session for free, as well as entrance into the vendor hall Friday night.

Friday Night Free is only available to those who make reservations in advance by emailing Expo@cfssd.org.  Please use the following subject line in your email message: "Friday Night Free". You will receive a confirmation email back with further instructions on picking up your Friday Night Free pass at the Introduction Session. In addition, those with this pass will be eligible to upgrade their Friday Night Free pass for $25 to return and enjoy the rest of the convention on Saturday. This is a special offer to welcome those new to homeschooling. The deadline to register for this FREE offer is May 5th.
